On the Train to Wonkyville
It seems that there are several approaches to the Katwise Sweatercoat skirt panels.
One way is to cut uniform pieces from the sweater sleeves - resulting in nice evenly-spaced panels that all fall gracefully in a regular pattern.
Another way is to use the entire sleeve, cutting it into two or three wedges and just "winging it." Every sleeve is going to be a different length and width. There are decisions to make. It's challenging for me - a Libra who likes things nicely balanced - to go for this more free-form approach.
This is my first effort at the "wonky" skirt. I arranged the skirt pieces so that the longer panels were in the back. (Thereby eliminating the "coat is longer in the front" issue!)
And as long as I was on the train to Wonkyville, I added some little patch pockets that I cut off one of the sweaters.
I like it!
Thank you to my beautiful model, Sarah!
