This is actually Danielle's second granny bag. The first one was really cute, but you just can't beat this vintage orange fabric. Great job, Danielle!

A Resolution
I am looking around my sewing room and realizing that I have way too much stuff. I'm not quite ready to purge yet, but I am ready to place a 1-month moratorium on fabric purchases. No more fabric purchases until February. There, I've declared it.
I remember reading a "Dear Abby" column several years ago about a woman who had died and her children discovered boxes, bins and bags of fabric everywhere in her house. There was fabric under the bed, in the closets and cabinets, in the basement and attic - just everywhere. "Oh, please...." I thought "....don't let me be like that!"
I'm actually pretty good about getting rid of stuff. Just today I cleaned out the cubbies in my closet and sorted my shoes. I have a garbage bag full of clothes and a shopping bag full of shoes set aside for charity. I threw a bunch of stuff out too. It was a small, but significant start. I'm sure I'll get to work on the sewing room as well....eventually.
The problem is that I get distracted.
I open a drawer to sort it out and then I discover the wonderful things inside and I want to begin a new project! Does this happen to anyone else?

Merry Christmas
My friend Kristina bought this bag as a Christmas gift for her sister. Check out my links for Kristina's website. She is a beautiful and talented Christian singer.
Another Necktie Handbag
It's been a while since I did these necktie handbags. This one was lingering unfinished until I found the perfect vintage enamel daisy pin. Doesn't the pin look great? I gave this bag to my friend Cora, who always raves about my bags and insists that I don't charge enough!

New Friends!
These are the new friends that I found online at Craftster. We met for the first time "in person" at a coffee bar on Saturday. I'm in the lower left, then going clockwise there's Tina, Chris, Bonnie, Kaitlin and Denise. What a cute bunch of girls - and crafty too!

I'm not over the necktie obsession, but I took a short break to make some ruffled Christmas skirts. This one is for Isabelle, my 5-year-old niece. What do you think?

1970's Necktie Gypsy Rose Bag
Lately it seems I have to use up all of these 1970's neckties. No, I still haven't made a skirt from them, but I had to try a gypsy bag. Ummmm... well, what do you think? UPDATE: This bag sold at Passage in ONE DAY!

Kelly's Necktie Skirt
When Kelly arrived to spend the Thanksgiving weekend with our family her destiny was already sealed.... Of course she was going to make a skirt - no question. She chose mostly blues. Didn't it turn out cute? She figures her sister is going to want it - or maybe steal it - so she immediately started a second one. It's almost done!

Happy Thanksgiving to All!
I'm so happy to have my brother, Brad , his wife Heather, and their daughter, Alexandria visiting for Thanksgiving! They have recently moved to Arizona and it is so nice to have family here. Alex and I made this skirt for Heather about a year ago. Doesn't it look great?!?!?

Necktie Corset Belt
Oh yeah! After making the necktie hats from the ends of the 70's ties - I knew I had to do something with the remaining sections. So.... I started a bag - I'll finish it eventually - and then got distracted by THIS idea! A necktie corset belt. It turned out pretty well, so I made three more. I know I'm obsessed!

Necktie Madness
Yes, I'm afraid it's gone too far this time. I found myself obsessed with working out the details of this hat. First - it's made with hideous 1970's wide ties. Second, it's topped with a ridiculous button (can the propeller be far behind?) And finally - my DD actually agreed to wear it. Enjoy!

Gypsy Rose Necktie Bag
I've been working hard on necktie projects! After making six new skirts I had loads of leftover skinny ends so I made several of these Gypsy Rose Necktie Bags. This is my very favorite style of bag - to make and to carry. The rose is made from a necktie too. I hope you like it!
