Zipper Pouches!
I've discoverd that a great way to use up scraps or to practice a new technique is to make a zipper pouch! The top one is made from necktie scraps, the next is ribbon scraps.
Here are the backs.
The daisy pouch features a ton of freestyle machine embroidery. I know it's hard to see in the photo. Do you recognize the last one? It's the first project from my bag of vintage trims!
Here is the lining on the daisy pouch. Cute?

I absolutely love YOU Ryan, thanks for your speedy comment!
Those are so cute! I really like what you did with the vintage trims.
Hi Laura!
I just happened upon your blog while searching for other recyclin' crafty chicas. I'm a necktie girl too, as well as a crochet+recycled upholstery fabric maven!
Nothing at my blog yet, but someday when I'm not so lazy...heh.
i love ur tie zipper pouches and ur necktie skirts! Could u please tell us how to make them!?
Wow, these may be some of my favorites yet. Love the necktie one (of course), and the ribbons one. May have to steal this idea too.
What is that drawing image?
Hey Ruby! You are fast becoming my online sewing geru. The pouches are fab. and so many wonderful variations. I just finished a week of managing the sewing area at our county fair- am sending seamstresses of all ages to your blog for ideas and inspirations. Thanks for sharing the joy of creating stuff.
Hey Glorious Hats,
Thanks so much for sending young sewers my way! The point of my blog is to encourage others to sew. The more the merrier.
Hey Laura, I was browsing back through your blog looking for tutorials for some of your projects. Do you have one for the zipper pouch? I want to teach this project to my 8th graders. I remember it being really easy but can't quite remember the steps. Also, where is the necktie tutorial?
Hope all is well. London is finally warming up and the sun is peaking out from time to time after a very grey winter.
